THE ARTIST'S TOUR VASE

Meet the new The Artist’s Tour Vase. This latest Fall/Winter design by Cara Bauermeister is handmade and finished by the artist in Cape Town, South Africa. 

The Artist's Tour Vases are handbuilt using porcelain. Each vase requires at least a month from start to completion. These vases form part of a limited edition of 30 per colour- each vase is signed and numbered. Please note that colours are mixed by hand and might vary slightly from piece to piece.

Concept: The design features symbols and icons that denote both physical places and art historical concepts of interest and inspiration to the artist.                       

  As an example the iconographic representation of an obelisk on the piece speaks not only of Ancient Egypt but the notion of collecting and reviving historical designs from souvenirs of the Grand Tour to the collections of modern museum. (Full essay available on request)
